Recently at the conclusion of RSS’s OTC (Officer Training Camp) in Nagpur, the formal Indian Air Force chief, Air Chief Marshal A Y Tipnis called RSS a traitor during his ‘valedictory address’.

“Every patriotic Indian should readily agree that we have singularly excellent and inspiring reference point in our Constitution. No matter what our different and often divergent beliefs, persuasions and ideologies, we have collectively committed ourselves to the ideals , values and principles enshrined in it,” said Tipnis who led the IAF’s decisive strikes in the Kargil war.

Reiterating that Constitution was supreme, he exhorted the RSS trainees to work for society without harming interests of anyone and keeping social fabric intact. “Justice and liberty are so paramount that fundamental rights guarantee them to very citizen without distinction of any kind including caste, creed, colour, faith belief and gender,” said Tipnis.

My understanding from that speech is that according to Tipnis, RSS doesn’t obey the constitution and its members should follow the Indian constitution. If that is not calling someone unpatriotic or traitor then what is? His speech clearly leaves the impression that he believes RSS to be anti-social, and its method to be against the interest of India.

I blame such blatant misunderstanding of RSS by even the most educated citizens of India to the backward thinking leadership of RSS. Time after time, RSS leadership has comprehensively failed to realize the importance of creating a positive public image of the Sangh Parivar organizations. Despite, the best intentions of numerous swayamsevaks, RSS leaders have been extremely lackluster in their approach in adapting to the new techniques, especially Internet and Mass Media.

Rather they have imbibed a mentality that the best solution to fight problems like liberal media is to run away from problems. Otherwise, what would explain their stands on creating hundreds of institutions to avoid the glare of media.

This is not limited to RSS alone but extends to other organizations, especially VHP.

Sangh Swayamsevaks are running nearly 70,000 service projects throughout Bharat. These service projects range from reconstructing villages in the Bhuj, Gujarat to boys hostel for Tribal Villagers in Tinsukia, Assam. From latest medical clinic, in Wayana, Banglore to adopting kids who have lost their parents to terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir. Very often these projects are hidden from the glare of news cameras and writers of major newspapers. Now, there is a video to showcase the RSS‘s effort to once again take Bharat to Param Vaibhav (the pinnacle of glory). Please take a moment to see for yourself, the selfless hard work by lakhs of sangh swayamsevaks in every nook and corner of Bharat.

The year 2006 is being celebrated as the Birth Centenary of Shri Madhavrao Sadashivrao Golwalkar.

I feel that Sangh Parivar has forgotten the ideals that Guruji worked his whole life to instill into Hindu Society. Guruji worked tirelessly for 33 years to provide an alternate vision for the society. A mission that was molded on the Hindu Culture.

I don’t think Sangh Parivar could have given Guruji a more fitting tribute on his Birth Centenary, than letting the only Hindu Kingdom in world be taken over by the Communist and have it strip of its Hindu identity. It is very hard to reconcile with the reality of Sangh Parivar playing the role of a mute spectator when the Guruji fought tooth and nail with Communist ideology for his whole life. Nepal is now just another Bangladesh in making. How long is it before the communist take over the Nepal? How long is it before that they begin to ally with China to begin the downfall of Bharat?

Is that the best Sangh Parivar could do for the Birth Centenary of Guruji, who proudly proclaimed that “A person can either be a Hindu or a Communist. He cannot be both.” ? Why didn’t RSS launch a campaign to pressure Indian Government to provide Arms to the King Gyanendra, when he needed them most? I think Sangh Parivar should devote more time on raising awareness about the dangerous of Communist taking over the Nepal. There is still time, Sangh Parivar can still pressure the Government of India to take a hard line with the new government in Nepal.

What is the use of having 60,000 Shakahs when we can’t even try to protect the only Hindu nation on the birth centenary of Shri Guruji? What is the use of all this “strength” when Communist with barely 50-60 MPs can engineer a coup against Hinduism, and we with 60,000 shakhas can only watch.

Sangh Parivar, has indeed given a wonderful gift to the Guruji and the Bharat Mata on the birth centenary of Shri Madhavrao Sadashivrao Golwalkar. The coming generation will treasure it forever.
